submitted by Jacob W. - |Recommended: YesReview and question — The staff is super nice and helpful, they are amazing but when i was given the tour they took us to the show room. That compared to what i walked in on during move in day was completely different. Move in day was scheduled for 8-18 I wasn’t able to move until 8-21. When i did arrive my apartment was unlocked and all the lights and fans were on. The apartment was completely dirty like it hadn’t been cleaned. crumbs, dog food, grime and stained residue on all the countertops, tables, dresser, cabinets. the carpet and couch were full of hair. caulking is missing all over the apartment around the baseboards. i’ve also been having a bug issue i didn't know if y’all have a company spray or if i need to schedule one. Like i said the staff is great and the events y’all hold are awesome but it seems as if the apartment wasn’t cleaned or looked after. Last thing I signed up during y’all’s promotional. it was offering 58 off of rent every month and a 500 gift card on Move-in day. When i picked up my keys they told me i should get an email in a few days. i’ve asked several times since then and they tell me it’s a regional issue. That’s has really been my only negative thing, the apartment being dirty i can look past but saying you’re going to give 500 on Move-in-day and then still not have it a month later is a little ridiculous. If i can get this matter resolved or atleast get a date on when i should receive those funds i would be really greatful Thank you.

If not, it’s gonna take up to three weeks for them to come, but they still get the work done so I appreciate them. Overall my experience at the Republic has been great. They have nice room set ups and nice amenities.

submitted by Sonya O. - |Recommended: NoReview — Maintenance requests should be fulfilled much quicker and or given an actual turnaround time. Garbage trucks at 7 AM are extremely loud. Apartment hallways are dirty.

Also the bath tub and toilet were honestly left very foul and disgusting by the previous owners. I went in and put in a request to have it cleaned an to this day it hasn’t been taken care of… I literally had to buy my own cleaning supplies and try to clean it myself, the tub is most likely stained from how long whatever has been left in there hair, dirt and black spots .

Big decisions like housing shouldn’t be rushed, but they clearly only cared about filling rooms. Once we finally signed, the tour was impressive — clean rooms, nice furniture, good amenities, friendly guide. It looked like the place to be. Unfortunately, that tour was nothing more than lipstick on a pig. Fast forward to summer we were placed in different rooms, and it took nearly a month to fix the mistake. During that time, we got no communication — no calls, no emails, nothing. The only message we did get was yet another mistake. To make matters worse, we weren’t allowed to speak to a manager because she was “on vacation,” so we were left dealing with untrained student staff who couldn’t resolve anything. Only once the manager returned was the issue fixed. When we finally moved in, the real nightmare began. Our unit reeked of marijuana and cigarettes. The carpet, doors, and furniture were shredded by cats. The air vents were caked with grime. Appliances were broken — the dishwasher, washing machine, and oven barely function. The dryer filter was filthy. Ants in every room, roaches reported by friends and I saw one the very first night . The furniture is the worst part covered in animal hair, mystery stains, and a stench that hits you the moment you walk in. It’s beyond uncomfortable — it’s unsanitary. The Republic sells you a polished image on the tour, but once you move in, you realize it’s all a façade. If you’re considering living here, don’t be fooled — you’ll regret it.
